Two amulets of Shu

During the Late Period, amulets of the god of air, Shu, were often placed in the mummy wrappings on the torso of the deceased. He is shown kneeling, with his arms raised to support the heavens and the solar disc above his head.


From Egypt, Giza, Pit G 7510 S, fill. 1925: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt. (Accession date: January 19, 2005)
