Piece of velvet

The ground is woven with light gray-blue silk and thin strips of silver gilt. The design of disconnected conventional flowers and leaves is of blue cut and uncut velvet. This piece may possibly be of the 16th-17th cent., but looks more like a.19th century reproduction.
