Piece of velvet

Turquoise blue silk ground; the design of rosettes and oblong forms, suggesting a stem with a leaf growing from each side of it, is distinguished from the background by an outline of tan-colored uncut velvet. In some parts of the design there are traces of a deep blue velvet pile.
