Piece of damask

Dark blue ground of a light bronze colored silk. The design of symmetrically arranged conventional floral forms, is woven with yellow silk. Each branch of leaves or flowers grows from a short piece of thick stem. Similar to 93.313 (T.1200).

Provenance

97.485 - 97.596 were acquired by the donor by exchange with the Pratt Institute of Brooklyn, N.Y.,From the Collection bought by them of Salvadore & Son of Florence, Italy, in 1897
