Provenance

Early 1930s, sold by the Von Zedlitz family to Adolph Loewi, Venice and Los Angeles [see note 1]; 1952, sold by Loewi to the MFA. (Accession Date: November 13, 1952) NOTES: [1] According to tradition, this had been in the Von Zedlitz family since the 16th century, having been a gift from the Turkish Sultan to a Ritter von Zedlitz.
