Sample of cotton batik with design of pairs of Garuda wings, stylized plants and floral medallion motifs in dark blue, brown and natural ecru on a ground covered with fine waving lines printed with dark blue and light brown.

Purchased through Dr. Ananda K. Coomaraswamy for the MFA from the private collectio of the Javanese prince Ario Kusumodiningrat, an elder brother of the then reigning sultan in Surakarta (Solo); April 21, 1921
