Sample of cotton batik with design of Dark blue ground ornamented with small orange figures arranged on diagonal lines across the piece. Running diagonally in the opposite direction are lines of small white dots.


Purchased through Dr. Ananda K. Coomaraswamy for the MFA from the private collection of the Javanese prince Ario Kusumodiningrat, an elder brother of the then reigning sultan in Surakarta (Solo); April 7, 1921
