Tall slender drop-shaped jar

Start collecting

This large tall slender jar has elongated drop-shaped proportions. The rim has an undulating profile. The base is rounded. Two loop handles are attached on opposite sides of the upper body. The jar was broken but has been mended and is complete. There are areas of blackening on the exterior.


From Nuri, Pyramid 7 (tomb of Karkamani). Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 8, 2006)
