Small long-necked shouldered jar

This small jar is made of a reddish clay fabric. Its exterior is treated with a red wash. The body has a narrow rounded base with sides widening to high-set shoulders. A long straight neck rises to a folded rim with squared edges. The jar is intact.

Provenance

From Nuri, Pyramid 3 (tomb of Senkamanisken), NE foundation deposit. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: September 7, 2006)
