Small globular jar

Start collecting

This small globular (almost shouldered) jar has a rounded base, a constricted, slightly flaring neck, and a thickly rolled rim. The exterior was treated with a black wash/slip, much of which has worn away. It is in cracked condition.

From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave X-B. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession date: July 24, 2006)
