The Shape of Art

This slideshow and lesson teaches student the skills of close examination and communication, while interweaving math and the visual arts curriculum through the investigation of shapes found in art. Students will first review basic shapes before looking at various styles of art, from Byzantine mosaic to 1940's abstract paintings. The lesson will culminate in tips for art making activities, as well as some lesson extension suggestions.
