Sculpture fragment of wing

Start collecting

One large wing fragment of highly polished brown-gray granite sculpture. Front and back surface is worked. Underside has subtle curved modeling. Upper side has feather pattern of long parallel incised lines. Large wing, seems to belong to same object as 16-4-314k and 20-1-335.

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, B502 II 2. 1919: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
