Sculpture fragment, feather pattern

One fragment of highly polished black grano-diorite. Appears to be large scale wing feathers. Medium-sized fragment has one worked surface with two vertical bands in feather pattern. See Documentation for other bird related fragments of black granite.

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, south side of 804. 1916: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
