Gutekunst, 10-14 May 1898; Richard Gutekunst (1870-1961, Stuttgart, London, Bern, Lugt 2213a); [probably sequestered by the British government in 1914 and sold by a public trustee as "the property of an enemy subject" through Garland-Smith & Co., London, 2-3 December, 1920]; Henry Harper Benedict (1844-1935, New York, Lugt 2936); sold by his widow; R. E. Lewis, Belvedere, CA; from whom purchased by MFA, September 1999.
