Portrait of Duke Cosimo I de' Medici

Bartsch and Bohlin attributed the portrait of Duke Cosimo to Martino Rota, and the surrounding cartouche to Agostino. The subsequent discovery of a letter dated 1585 from Aldo Manuzio to Cavaliere Vinta, cited in Illustrated Bartsch, suggests that the portrait was engraved by Cesare dal Borgo.
