Sir Joshua Reynolds (b. 1723 – d. 1792; Lugt 2364), London. 1853, British Museum, London (Lugt 302); by 1912, deaccessioned as a duplicate by the British Museum (Lugt 305) [see note]. August Laube (dealer, d. 1988), Zurich; 1988, to his daughter, Daniela Laube (dealer), New York; 2012, sold by Daniela Laube to the MFA. (Accession Date: September 26, 2012) Note: Lugt 305 was the British Museum's duplicate stamp. The 1954 edition of Lugt notes that stamp no. L.305 was used for the following duplicate sales, all at Boerner, Leipzig: November 14-15, 1924; May 25-27, 1925; November 23-24, 1925; May 5-6, 1926; May 3, 1927; May 7-9, 1928; May 10, 1929.
