Balthasar Lydius (1577-1629, Dutch theologian), his inscription on title page "Sum Balthazaris Lydii," and notations in his hand in the text (some dated 1598 and 1599) cited on preliminary leaf facing title; ownership inscription on front pastedown dated 25 Sept [18]35; Sylvester R. Koehler (1837-1900, Curator of Prints at MFA), by whom given to MFA, October 20, 1898.
