Molded mark on base reads "STERLING CHINA / BY" in sans serif letters, and"Russel / Wright" below in script.

Provenance

The donor's grandfather, Glayde Coleman, worked at the Sterling China factory, and probably acquired the pitcher and plate while employed by the company; to his son, Andrew J. Coleman, and his wife, Dorothy Smith Coleman, m. about 1936; to Elizabeth Anne Coleman; to MFA 2002, gift of Elizabeth Anne Coleman.
