Patriots in Boston

What can we learn from looking at portraits, before we know about history?
Once we know more about the history, how does that change how we view the portrait?
This gallery is designed to be used in two separate lessons to teach fifth graders about some important patriots and about the events in Boston that led towards the Revolutionary War.
There are two sets of questions for each slide; the first set should be used as a preview activity, and the second set should be used after students have learned about the people and events. Please see the lesson plan in the related resources section for more complete information.
