Necked spherical jar

This jar has is fashioned of a rather coarse red clay fabric with small areas that have blackened. It has a bulging spherical body that constricts abruptly to a short narrow neck and rim with slight outward pull. Aside from some chips on the rim, the vessel is largely intact.

From el-Kurru, Ku. 704. 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: September 5, 2006)
