Body carved in shape of long-billed bird from two hollowed-out pieces of hardwood, tied together in four places with twine or sinew. Belly and back of bird carved with faces. Painted red, green, and black. Integral wood handle pegged together with two small dowels. Stones (?) inside.

1989, accessioned as source unidentified to the MFA. Object was in the MFA "Children's Room" until brought to the attention of the Department of Musical Instruments in 1989. (Accession Date: May 22, 1989)
