Before 1950, Emily B. Frazer, Columbus, Ohio. Family lore states that the piano was brought to the United States from Germany by Frazer's great-grandmother, to whom it had been a wedding present; about 1950-1955, sold by Emily B. Frazer to John Challis, New York; 1967, sold by John Challis to Edwin M. Ripin (1930-1975), Forest Hills, New York; 1977, sold by the estate of Edwin M. Ripin to the MFA. (Accession Date: March 9, 1977)
