Body of boxwood in three parts: head (with long cap), body, and foot. Ferrules of ivory. One trapezoidal key (Young type H) of brass (d-sharp1), mounted on ring with spring attached to wood.

Inscription

Stamped on all joints: CHEVALIER / [dolphin]; stamped at bottom of headjoint and top of bodyjoint: [6-petal flower]
