Modern Abstraction

We will look at examples of modernism and abstraction. Some of the key questions we will answer are:

What are the four main types pf art? (realism, abstraction, non-objective, surreal) what are the differences between them? How can you tell?

Why did artists start making these sorts of pictures? (modernism as a reaction to and against photography; the "death of painting")
