Lid for a model basin

Part of a large collection of miniature copper tools and vessels found together in an intact burial chanber, this model replicates the handled lid of a container. Life-sized versions of this type of cover in pottery are also known.

From Giza G 2381 A (tomb of Impy). 1912: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt. (Accession date: December 4, 1913)
