Large tall drop-shaped jar

This large tall drop-shaped jar has a rounded base (coming almost to a rounded point at the end) and an undulating rim profile created by rilling. Two loop handles are attached at the upper body. Approximately half of the base is broken off with five small fragments remaining.


From Nuri, Pyramid 2 (tomb of Amaniastabarqa), SE foundation deposit. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 9, 2006)
