Large slender drop-shaped jar

This tall slender drop-shaped jar is made of a reddish clay fabric. It has a rounded base with a slightly raised knob left by the shaping process. Two loop handles are attached to the upper body. It has a thick straight rim. It is intact.


From Nuri, Pyramid 33 (tomb of a queen, name unknown ). Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 7, 2006)
