Large slender drop-shaped jar

This large tall slender jar has an elongated drop-shape with a rounded base, a short neck with undulating profile, and two small loop handles on the upper body. The exterior is caked thickly with crumbly dried mud. There is a small drilled hole (about .3 cm) on one side of the base.


From Nuri, Pyramid 18 (tomb of Analmaaye), NW foundation deposit. 1918: Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 7, 2006)
