Large jar

This large brown ware jar is drum-shaped with a very narrow neck and two handles at the base of the neck. The shape is sometimes referred to as a 'pilgrim flask'.

From el-Kurru, pyramid 72 (tomb of an unidentified queen). 1919: Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan. (Accession Date: May 19, 2006)
