Large beaker

This large convex beaker is fashioned of a pinkish-buff clay fabric. It has an almost cylindrical body with straight rim and a lower portion that rounds down to a small flat base. The rim is chipped; it is otherwise intact. There are some earthy brown incrustations on some areas of the exterior.

Provenance

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, Pyramid 11 (tomb of Aktisanes), NE foundation deposit. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 9, 2006)
