The raised bowl has a gilded interior, a flat base, and a slightly everted rim. The bowl is soldered to a raised trumpet stem that is attached to a flat ring-shaped foot. The drip plate with center point is surrounded by a cast seven-pointed openwork frame.

“HP” incuse monogram; “HENRY PETZAL,” “HANDWROUGHT,” “STERLING,” in incuse sans-serif letters; and “1/1974” within a circle, all struck on both.

Provenance

Retained by the artist until made a gift in 1979.
