Each work in this gallery has been selected for its evocative nature and may be used as a prompt for various prose writing activites as suggested in the accompanying text. The overall objectives are to strenghten student ability to write on demand in response to a specific prompt, in this case a visual one. Through VTS strategies and close obervation of details, students will learn to create a setting, character, conversation, letter, jounral entry, or story.
The first eight slides are aimed at the elementary age writer while the last eleven targeted middle and high school writers. The objects will be used in gallery sessions during the teacher development workshop offered at the MFA on January 9, 2008.
