This is a rectilinear fragment of a statue base with a substantial groove around an inscription. The stone is black granodiorite with many large white inclusions. GD1.

From Nubia (Sudan), Kerma, K III grave K 318 debris. 1914: Excavated by the Harvard University–Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Egypt.
