Industrial Revolution: Technology & Nostalgia

This gallery will help students to see how the industrial developments that occurred during the Industrial Revolution influenced American Art in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Students will focus on ways in which the Hudson River School and Ash Can School artists longed for simpler times while acknowledging the progress that was being made in the areas of transportation, agriculture, and urbanization as a result of the IR.
