Incised bag-shaped jar with contents

This bag-shaped redware jar has a side body, a rounded base, and a slight outward pull to the rim. Its flaring neck has been decorated with three incised lines. Inside the jar original contents remain in the form of a brownish mass of an organic substance (possibly bread?)

From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 1610. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession date: July 11, 2006)
