Globular marl(?) jar

This globular jar is fashioned of a pinkish buff-colored clay that may be marl. The jar was broken but has been mended, and it still exhibits considerable cracking.

Provenance

From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 1900. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession date: July 18, 2006)
