The fabric of this jar is a red to buff ware. It has a globular body, constricted neck, and slightly flaring rim. The surface exhibits a rough, lined texture that likely results from shaping with some kind of utensil such as a knife.

Provenance

From Dakka (ASN101/373). 1910. Excavated by Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the Egyptian government. (Accession Date: June 15, 2006)
