Globular jar with four feet

Start collecting

This jar has a globular body supported by four roughly cylidrical feet. On the upper portions a constricted neck terminates in a straight, unworked rim. The jar is heavy straw temper silt and shows some blackening and some deterioration from exposure.

Provenance

From Dakka (ASN 101/ 350). 1910. Excavated by Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the Egyptian government. (Accession Date: June 15, 2006)
