Globular jar with contents

This almost symmetrical globular jar has a rounded base, a short, narrow neck, and rolled rim. It exhibits considerable blackening and evidence of burning. Contents remain in the jar; it is partially filled with a grayish-brown organic substance.

From Kerma, Cemetery N, grave 164. 1916: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession date: July 6, 2006)
