Globular jar

Start collecting

This globular jar is fashioned of buff-colored clay. Its proportions are almost bag-shaped. It has a rounded base, no neck, and a straight, outwardly pulled rim. Two prominent exterior rilling (or coil?) lines are visible on the lower portion of the body.

Provenance

From Dakka (ASN 101/61). 1910. Excavated by Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the Egyptian government. (Accession Date: July 5, 2006)
