Trencher Salt

Start collecting

Each spool-shaped body, raised from a single piece of thin sheet, has a spreading base and a band of chased gadrooning around the foot. The circular well at the top is surrounded by a similar band of chased gadrooning. The salts are worn overall, and several cracks have been repaired.

In bowl of each salt, maker's mark BE (Grimwade 155); Britannia; date letter possibly d; lion's head erased.
