Struck under bases and on covers of tureens, on reverses of stands and on rims of liners with hallmarks (leopard's head, lion passant, date letters for 1740-1, 1768-9 or 1777-8) and with maker's marks for John Edwards II, John Parker I, Edward Wakelin, John Wakelin and William Tayler.


Made for Simon, 1st Earl Harcourt (1714-77); by descent until 1993; June 10, 1993, sold by Harcourt family, at Sotheby's, London, lots 110 and 113, where most probably bought by Alan and Simone Hartman, New York, NY; 2001, gift of Alan and Simone Hartman. (Accession date: February 21, 2001)
