By 1941, William Randolph Hearst (b. 1863 - d. 1951), New York; from Hearst to the International Studio Art Corporation, New York [see note 1]; August 13, 1941, sold by the International Studio Art Corporation to the Brummer Gallery, New York (stock no. N5185); 1947, sold by Brummer to the MFA for $1000. (Accession Date: November 13, 1947) NOTES: [1] The International Studio Art Corporation was a Hearst-owned company that had the responsibility of uncrating, cataloguing, storing, and shipping art objects Mr. Hearst had purchased.
