Carved pine frame of rococo scrolls, surmounted by Phoenix and with two sheep at the base. Gilt. The glass is modern. Considerable regilding.

Provenance

According to tradition, ordered from London by Robert "king" Hooper of Mablehead, before 1765; presented to his daughter Alice as a wedding gift, 1765. Sold by Roland B. Hammond to the MFA for $2,400. (Accession date: April 11, 1962)
