ARMORIALS: engraved in center of top of box, the arms of the City of Cork surrounded by the motto "STATIO BENE FINA CARINIS". INSCRIPTIONS: engraved on underside, "The Mayor Sheriffs & common Council of the/City of Cork unanimously voted the Freedom/at Large of their City to be presented to/Nathl. Atcheson of London, Esq./Founder of the Pitt Club. As a public/Testimony of the opinion they entertain of his high Character./Heny. Sadleir, Mayor. / W. Waggett, Recorder. / Thos. Deane, / Wm. Lucas, /} Sheriffs. / W. Jones, T. Clerk."


On underside of cover, maker's mark CT over IW (Bennett, p. 188, no. 13); sovereign's head. On inside of the box, date letter T; harp crowned; Hibernia; sovereign's head.
