Inscription

ARMORIALS: engraved on each base, the crest and motto of of Hazlerigg or Hesilrige, poss. for Sir Thomas Hesilrige, 4th Baronet, of Noseley Hall, co. Leicester (1664-1700); an unidentified crest and motto (a demiwoman nude; MOTTO: Vivat solum post funera virtu). INSCRIPTIONS: scratched on underside of each base, 1698 and c200/2.

Marks

On corners under each base, maker's mark Sy (Grimwade 2673); lion's head erased; Britannia; date letter c.
