Candlestick

Start collecting

One of a pair of candlesticks. Cast, with a molded, welled square base. A banded knop rises to a baluster shaped stem. The nozzle is plain and spool shaped with two oval perforations.

Inscription

A coat of arms, probably those of Salving de Boissieu is engraved on a corner of the base.

Marks

Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, I(?) or J(?), B, a chalice or cup. Charge Mark: precursor to the charge mark, a duty mark, 1672-1677: a crowned A with three fleurs-de-lis, for Paris (Dennis, 351) Other: LHF; the tip of a crown.
