Walnut; cane. Elaborately carved armchair with caned back and seat. Carved and pierced top rail is tennoned between baluster-shaped uprights. Heavy C-scrolls dominate decoration of rails, arms, legs and stretchers. Beading and acanthus leaves embellish arms and front legs.

London; 1976, sold to Herbert Heidelberger; 1984, bequest of Herbert Heidelberger in honor of Frederick and Minna Heidelberger to the MFA.
