Walnut, top cresting and front stretcher carved with crown and putti. Arms, seat frame and back carved with leaves and rosettes. Twisted side rails and stretchers.

1863, Hancock House, Boston [see note 1]. 1917, gift of Mrs. Winthrop Sargent in memory of her husband to the MFA (June 7, 1917) Notes: [1] According to a 1917 note in the MFA curatorial file, the armchair was taken from the Hancock House, Boston in 1863.
