Wine taster with a circular bowl with steep sides. The handle is applied, and chased of shell form with a circular ring grip. The bowl is engraved LB.

Marks

Maker's Mark: a P, a grain, the rest illegible. Other: a fleur-de-lis over an illegible rest of the mark on the shell handle; two illegible marks, probably illegible rest of the mark on the shell handle; two illegible marks, probably the warden's marks. Christie's gives the location as Paris, and the dates as the warden's marks. Christie's gives the location as Paris, and the dates as 1684-1687, but I cannot read the marks well enough to be sure.
